Layer cake recipe:
1/3 cup butter or shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2/3 cup milk
1 ¾ cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
Cream shortening and add sugar. Add eggs. Beat well. Bake in a hot oven, 375 degrees, for 25 to 30 minutes.
